Inside Jeff Overturf's Head: Vic & Sade

sleepy little town rush literally gallons of hot soup to the Gooks' doorstep to help put him on the mend. Great interplay between Vic, Sade and Rush comes in rapid fire rhythms as each flexes the personalities into action that Rhymer's spent years making us familiar with. It's also one of those episodes that brings to our attention that there are just 3 speaking actors in the full series, but with the constant doorbell and phone ringing and confusion in the house, it feels like there are 20 players here beofre our ears.

Our second episode is from November 19, 1940. This one hints that Uncle Fletcher has arrrived in town sometime in the episodes that are lost (rot in H-E-double hockey stick, you short sighted Proctol & Gamble execs! and hints that he'll soon get on the 4th speaking part of the series. Uncle Fletcher is one of the great characters of all time, and I can just wait until he makes his appearing in the surviving episodes.

This point is all about Rush's story of the Brick-Mush Man getting his head caught in Yammelton Department store's revolving door. Think that can't take a 15 minute play? Than you don't know Paul Rhymer.

It's time to smile again with radio's home folks!As we go done the undated Vic & Sade episodes of 1939, our first segment today shows us more of exactly how treasured Vic's lodge, "The Dowsy Venus chapter of the Sacred Stars of the Milky Way" is to him.Sade gets an offering from Mr Gumpox the ice man to stock some of "the bushels of junk" in her family in an unused stall next to where Howard the trash horse sleeps.

Our first installment of Vic & Sade is a master-ful tale of confusion that has me mesmeried each and ever time I hear to it. Once again, Paul Rhymer uses only two speaking characters, one simply explaining to the former a phone message and short a form as deep and fully as you can imagine fill your ears.
