Formed in 1982, when the Latin soul band Pride broke apart and members Sade Adu, Paul Anthony Cook, Paul Spencer Denman, Stuart Matthewman went alone and began writing their own material for their songs, Sade offered fans know and soul sounds like they had never heard before.
Titled Soldier of Love, their long awaited album was initially released on 5th February 2010 in Germany and general on 8th February. It debuted at figure 4 on the UK Albums Chart and at number 1 on the US Billboard 200. Well known for their unique sounds of R&B, soul, jazz, funk and easy rock,Sade skyrocketed to stardom with their debut album Diamond Life which shot to the top of the UK Top Ten charts in the mid-80s and went on to win a Grammy Award for Best New Artist as good as making Platinum certification. Now their new release Soldier of Jazz has sold over 1.1 million copies in the United States, also making it a certified platinum album.
